Proper Penny Preparations

To properly clean your pennies you will need:

*A dry towel (large bath towel if you have a large amount of pennies)

*Dawn Soap

*Warm water

*Light scrub pad or brush (depending on the state of your penny collection)

*Large, deep bowl

*pasta strainer

Steps to clean your pennies

Fill your bowl with warm water & dawn soap to create suds. If you have a large

quantity of pennies, you will want to do this in smaller groups & change out

your Dawn water in between washings. Soak you pennies in the warm dawn

soap, gently moving them around to ensure all get soap. Scoop out small handfuls to examine any that may need light scrubbing. All washed pennies should be put into your pasta strainer for rinsing. Gently shake the strainer to ensure all coins are rinsed well. Dump your rinsed coins onto your dry towel, carefully separate any stacks to ensure proper drying. Use dry towel to dab dry the tops of the coins.  Once all your coins are dry, return to a clean container for donation.

Rolled Coin Donations

Pre-rolled pennies will be accepted for donation.
